Workout Wednesday! We have received a bunch of requests to share more on what we typically eat, our workouts and fitness tips {workout on @pinesandpalms3 on instagram}
If you are new around here we are all former D1 athletes. Kate and I played women’s lacrosse for UMass Amherst and Grace played field hockey for UNH and Merrimack College.
For me it’s more of a feeling, I love waking up in the morning and starting the day with a workout (one of my 2021 goals is to get up earlier and take advantage of all the time in the day). I like the feeling of peace, accomplishment and the energy running brings. Especially over these past few months, running has been my escape out of the house, to clear my head and to move!
WHAT WE EAT:
Kate & I typically eat the same way
- Breakfast – english muffin, toast
- Lunch – low fat yogurt, raspberries, banana, blueberries, granola or low cal sandwich- turkey deli meat, sandwich thin, lettuce, honey mustard, avocado
- Dinner – Chicken, veggies (is always our go-to) BBQ chicken, sweet potatoes, squash & zucchini are my go-to!
- A lot of people noticed that we trimmed down before our weddings and I think that a part of that is that we cut out the unnecessary snacking. If we do it’s a little bag (100 cal) Going to try and mix in more fruits for snacks!
- Of course, we don’t eat dinner like this every night, we’ll still do Chipotle or Chick-Fil-A to treat ourselves + ice cream or a Yasso bar every night!
I mentioned in one of our wedding recap blogs that Matt actually lost 35lbs in 4 months. He ate the same way as the above, cut portion sizes, we worked out together in the mornings M-F. When he was feeling like it was hitting a wall — we stepped up on the arms, abs and made sure we did them right after running (if we put it off, they wouldn’t get done)
