Hi Guys! Today’s blog is all about decorating and furnishing with a budget! Recently, as some of you may have seen, my bf Joel and I moved to Austin TX! Joel plays professional hockey here so we will be here for the next 8 months aka hockey season then move back to our house in Massachusetts once the summer comes around! It has been so crazy to pick up and move, but so fun and exciting at the same time! Since we are only here for less than a year and because we have our house in Mass we basically are starting from scratch furniture wise and didn’t want to spend a ton of money. Sharing some of my tips below!
Top places with the best deals:
- Homegoods & TJ Maxx– I know it’s kind of early but honestly loving the XMAS things all out like this Christmas pillowย & this sign! Homegoods is amazing for any decor and higher quality pieces like end tables & dining chairs!
- Ikea- we got our couch for only $399 here and its actually so comfy! The prices are great here but definitely know what you are looking for! It could get overwhelming!
- Target– Ok Target is good for everything but recently I got this cube organizer, the best candlesย and these fur pillows!
- Costco! We bought both our mattresses for TX and MA @ Costco & love it! I think they are Sealy and were under $600.
- Amazon– We have this exact Kate Spade Polka Dot comforter! Also, loving these industrial lamps .ย ย Also, this Upholstered headboard– we have pretty much the same thing! It’s super inexpensive, but looks classy and more expensive than it is!ย
- Urban Outfitters- our friend recently told us this item was the best thing she ever bought from our blogs!
- Wayfair– I have heard so many great things about wayfair! They give really good options on different price points you are looking to spend. Offer free 2 day shipping & always have items on sale- like this 3 piece dining set
- Pottery Barn– This is def one of my splurge stores! I love everything. Something I always am willing to spend more money on is sheets like THIS. After experiences with cheap sheets it’s def not worth it to save the extra $30.
This outfit is definitely one of my favorites so far this season because it was actually cool enough in Austin to wear this leather jacket! & the fact that I get to wear “dressy leggings” aka faux leather is a plus! ((Details below))
Leather Jacket (under $100)- Grey mock neck sweater– Faux leather leggings (wearing size XS)- Sneakers– Cross body bag
Doormat only $13- One of my favorite things to buy to make the house homey!
Love this mini Keurig– under $80!ย It’s narrow and fits in any spot! Perfect for apartments and small living areas!
We got our couch from IKEA for under $400 and love it!ย We added this fur throw (on sale!), these pillowsย also HERE and this rug to make our APT in TX look as homey as possible!
