Happy Friday! It has taken me all week to getting around to write this post. Basically I have been unpacking and cleaning up other rooms the boys make a mess of while I unpack. Being from Massachusetts I honestly had no idea it snowed in Georgia. Last week we heard it that the Northern part of the state was going to get snow so last minute we booked a trip to Helen, GA. It was the cutest town with shopping and a ton of restaurants, although we didn’t do much of either because we spent most of the time snowed in. It was so magical for the boys, both born in Florida, its hard to time our trips to see family to see snow so this was perfect.
So by last minute, we booked Wednesday and left Friday. I did the worst job packing so going to add items I wish I packed! I ran around trying to find snowsuits last minute in GA. It was hard but I managed to find some at Dicks. I totally would have saved money and grabbed these ones if I had time.
- When going on a road trip we always try to pack kitchen items and diapers ect in clear storage bins. It helps we have a truck bed for storage
- If possible try to travel around nap time. We left a little before Charlotte’s afternoon nap. Jackson (3) will fall asleep in the car still, but typically doesn’t nap.
- The kids are allowed to watch their car TVs for longer trips. These are lifesavers! If you buy them it comes with 2 tvs
- I always pack Lysol wipes and extra paper towels, paper plates, plastic utensils, Tupperware and plastic bags. These are all great especially if you are cooking. No one wants to do dishes on vacation
- Sometimes we do order pick up to a walmart location near our air B&B, but this time we just packed our Yeti. We used the largest one this time LOL!
- Blankets, pillows if you need them . All of the kids items they sleep with (Always seem to be turning around for something!) We always seem to forget baby soap and toothbrushes for the boys! Like every single time! I did remember the baby spoons this time though.
- We traveled with this double stroller. It is lightweight and easy to fold up.
- I brought this diaper bag, but wished I brought my backpack one.
- The boys have their own suitcases. Mason packed for both of them! He was so excited. They both love wheeling them around!
- I usually section off a part of my suitcase for Charlotte. I need to try these packing cubes or get her her own suitcase soon now that she is getting bigger. LOL!
- If you have room 100% recommend bringing some sort of a baby bouncer or walker. We didn’t think to bring one this time and both of our arms were exhausted from holding Charlotte all weekend! We even checked the walmart near by and they were sold out. Honestly if your flying somewhere for a week I would even buy this cheaper one and leave it there! So worth it!
- We did bring a pack and play Charlotte to sleep in. We found a bathroom upstairs that was dark and made it her room for the long weekend. A lot of people swear by these slumber pods but we haven’t tried them.
- This portable sound machine was a must for car and nap and bedtime for Charlotte
- My husband did bring this backpack for Charlotte. She loves it!
- Don’t forget baby Tylenol (I always just like to have on hand) Wine and tylenol for yourself! Also random, but I bring laundry detergent to get laundry done and it is one less thing to do when you get home
- GOOD LUCK!
