Hi guys! Today I’m sharing some Monday motivation that got me through this past couples months and some personal exciting news! For the past three years as many of you know i’ve been in a long distance relationship with my bf of 5+ years! This past summer, my (Kate’s) boyfriend Joel moved to Arizona after signing a professional hockey deal!ย For years weโve made the LDR work and it kinda got to the point in both our lives, especially with Joel being in AZ and me across the country in Massachusetts, that we needed to make the next move (literally & physically).
For 3+ years weโve been seeing each other whenever possible- so mostly during season I๏ธ would fly in or drive to where ever for a weekend and see him for max 2 days a month, summer being a little different. I๏ธ remember driving multiple times 6 hours on aย Saturdayย morning with Anne & family most times to see aย Saturdayย game then turn aroundย Sundayย and drive home and back in for workย Mondayย a.m. It was exhausting and draining. I๏ธ think every time we say goodbye for the past three years I๏ธ cried haha because I๏ธ would never know when I๏ธ would see him next.
So this summer, with the understanding, help and support from my parents, family as well as my job I๏ธ decided that I๏ธ was going to Arizona!
Not going to lie it was super hard leaving my family and changing especially when i’ve been with my twin Anne every second but so far Iโve learned to be flexible, to be excited even when Iโm nervous, and to embrace change! Change is good and fun and I’m so thankful for the opportunity!! Itโs been exciting starting a new chapter together, decorating the house, making plans together, even getting coffee together every day. Those things always seemed so far away, but now itโs here!
Not to be dramatic and everything- I๏ธ will be going home a lot… Joel travels weeks at a time and so far itโs been a crazy start!! Also, it will just be for hockey season which is the cool part- to live in a different new place for a few months! Thank you to all for the amazing recommendations, keep them coming!
Also -big thanks to my brother Buddy for this caption haha! he was joking around with us and I๏ธ actually liked that caption title for a blog post so thanks Bud!
