Recently we have had a few questions on some go-to make-up essentials for a natural look as well as some questions about who did our make-up for our weddings! Love that compliment, because we did actually all did our own make-up for each of our weddings! Looking back Anne and I can say how happy we were to do our own make-up and have that natural, “you” look on our wedding days! Honestly, I didn’t think once of my make-up after applying it and I of course having the best photographer help make us look glowing all night ๐ ! Grace had a bad experience getting her make-up done the day of her wedding that always stuck with us, so she actually did hers herself and from that day forward Anne and I said we’d always just do our own. Nothing against getting your make-up done, but just would highly suggest getting a trial run done before to make sure you can make changes and most importantly look like yourself!
Since then we have added some changes to our make-up routines over the year, but our routine is super simple! For an everyday look I can throw light make-up on in no more than 5 minutes and be good to go! Recently we have definitely got more into skincare products then every before so I will share some of those products we are using as well!
FACE LOTION: invest in a great face lotion like this one! makes such a difference!
PRIMER: We used this primer for our weddings! I loved it and use it when I know I need makeup on all day. Scroll down for a less greasy feel primer.
FOUNDATION (color: Sandalwood) light coverage & medium coverage Foundation Stick (color: Natural)- I use both! The heavier coverage to cover dark spots. Stick first then pressed powder over it.
CONCEALER (color: 29N) This Shape Tape was a game changer in our makeup routines. Apply it under eyes with the blender and on dark spots. (blender + shape tape combo on sale!)
BRONZER: endless summer, warmth
HIGHLIGHTER (color: free)
MASCARA– this does “flake” after a little, but makes my lashes look super long!
LIPSTICK/LINER– we both used the color “Don’t Trip” literally stayed on all night, similar would be “Ulta Beauty”. I use “Bare” & “Kylie” for everyday look! can’t believe it’s on major sale right now!
BENEFIT MAKEUP SETTER– didn’t use this on my wedding, but wish that I had! Blurs your pores and keeps make-up on for hours! I used this every night I wear makeup and barely comes off on my masks!

Trying out some new skincare products and really loving how they make my skin feel!
- Glycolic Acid Peel Pads with Blue Agave – this is something I normally wouldn’t gravitate to, just from a lack of knowledge around everyday skincare, but OMG these are amazing. I used one pad at night after cleansing and before my moisturizer. When I woke up these morning, my skin looked brighter, my pores smaller and the redness and irritated of my breakout was significant less red and the swelling was gone.
- Black Tourmaline Face Primer (new arrival) – LOVE this primer! I put it on before makeup or use it without. It protects against pollutants, hydrates, isn’t greasy or oily and evens out skin tone. Feels like a moisturizer going on!
- Retinol Supreme Eye Serum – I put this on at night and it adds so much moisture into this delicate part of our under eyes. Also, love this Complete Eye Cream for daily use. I love having cream made for under our eyes. This really helped reduce puffiness immediately.
- Discovery Collection (on sale!)- this makes the perfect gift for Mother’s Day! Still making my way through all of these products, but I loved the Clarifying Detox Mask! My skin is so sensitive to masks (usually breaks out come after) and this one removed dirt from my pores, made my skin softer, brighter, reduce nagging breakouts I had & no break outs came at all!!
