Happy Thursday! One of our favorite things to do lately is shop for home items! As most of you know Grace just moved into her new home and Anne and I have been in our homes since last year so we all are constantly decorating and finding new useful items we are loving.
Joel & I bought our house last April and with the hockey season live here only during the off season (summer months). We were so excited to purchase our first home together and take on the challenge of a fixer upper! We had some major help from my family siblings, parents, aunt (serious help from ripping wallpaper and laminate floors, to my brother putting together our cabinets) we were able to turn our house into a home! Just wanted to share our progress so far and how exciting it is to see such a difference after all the hours of hard work!
Some major things we did to update our house was first rip all the carpet out and put in hard wood floor, this was definitely one of the best things we could have done and worth every penny! Also, since the previous owner was a heavy smoker there wasn’t one room that didn’t smell of smoke. We washed, used odor blocking kiltz, and painted every single room, ceiling and base board! Also, recently we updated the outside by painting the the trim on our outside of house white, shutters from green to black and front walk way from concrete to beautiful stone!
Here are some before & after picture of our screened in deck (one of our favorite rooms in the house) and our kitchen! Still some updates to do and definitely learning through the process every step of the way!
Next is our screened in porch/deck! One of our favorite rooms in the house! Sharing more details on these chairs on Instagram story today!
