So many request for this Apple Crisp recipe! I’ve watched my mom for years make it, every time we would come home from college or from Texas my mom would have it waiting! After taking notes the last few times, and promising Joel an apple crisp when he got home, we finally tried it ourselves! It is super easy to make, trust me I can’t do tough baking! Reach out if you have any questions!
- Thinly slice 8-10 apples (we used a mix of macintosh or cortland and gala, usually whatever we have) into bowl.
- Add 2 tsp ground cinnamon, quarter cup of sugar, tablespoon of lemon juice to the bowl & mix it!
- NEXT: Crust- we used this Betty Crocker kind, but Jiffy works great too. Whatever you can find and follow directions on package for mixing. *make sure flour is on the counter and rolling pin before you roll it out or else it will stick!* Use this rolling pin to roll it our very thin to cover pie dish- this is a great pie dish & on sale!
- ADD your apples to the pie dish!
- NEXT for the crisp topping- 1 stick of butter lightly soften *don’t over soften, only a few seconds in the microwave*, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup regular sugar, 3/4 cup flour & 1/2 cup oatmeal! Use this pastry blender tool to mix it together.
- Keep mixing it, for a while, once you see it stick and crumble together, add it to the top of the pie.
- BAKE @ 350 for 1:20 minutes
- Add ice cream & Enjoy!
