Hi everyone! It’s Anne here and today on the blog I’m sharing some wedding updates and more about my ring from Barmakian Jewelers!
Over the past few weeks Kate and I have received a lot of questions about our rings i.e. where are they from, did we help each other pick them out, what are some tips we have etc.
A: Yes, they are both from Barmakian Jewelers! I can’t say enough good things about Barmakian and the service they provided to us as we picked out our rings. Matt and I picked out my ring together! I knew Matt was the one early into our relationship, so fast forward 7 years later going through this process together wasn’t any less special. I was SO surprised the day he proposed! Tips for finding the perfect ring at Barmakian:
- Working with a one of their specialists is key! The knowledge that their team provided was extremely helpful when choosing the perfect ring. They shared all the details on the 4 Cs; cut, color, clarity, and carat. I love that Barmakian made us feel like family. We worked closely with one of the consultants who listened to us and shared so many facts. I had no idea how much there is to know about the diamond, setting, and how it is custom made for you.
- First, it starts with the setting. Once you choose the setting you like they work with your budget and answer any questions you have for choosing which diamond is best!
- Don’t be afraid to talk to your other half. A lot of guys don’t realize that this is something you, as the bride, would like to be apart of.
- This is a symbol of your love and something you will have forever. I loved that we picked out a timeless and classic round stone. My setting (Kate has the same one!) is unique because each of the diamonds on the band are held in there with 4 prongs each. I learned that this provides more support to secure the diamonds in there for years and years.
- Barmakian has been in business for over 100 years. They truly provide the best quality, value, selection, and service. I can remember going there as a little girl with my grandma to pick out jewelry, imagining one day will be my turn.
Planning process:
We’ve secured a date for summer 2020!
What I learned: Summers book up fast! When we realized we wanted to get married in August 2020 we learned that the dates were very limited. A lot of people have 2+ year engagements, which gives more time to plan. Almost every Friday and Saturday (at the places in MA I looked) were booked up. If you know you will most likely get married I would suggest setting a date early. I would have done this, but didn’t realize how booked up specific venues get!
2. When planning follow your gut
What I learned: When choosing a venue we were between a few different ones in MA/NH. There were positives and negatives to both and just as we were about to book I had this gut feeling that it wasn’t right and I couldn’t put my finger on it. My mom called up our now venue just to check and see if for some reason another date opened and just like that they had an cancellation and the date was perfect!!! One of the main factors was the people and how we were treated ๐ As soon as we booked everything else felt right and fell into place.
3. Dress shopping
Next up is dress shopping! Can’t wait to take you all along!! Grace and the babies are headed to MA in a few weeks and it is the perfect time to get some shopping done together! Here are a few things perfect for the bride-to-be ๐
