Grace here! I have been meaning to sit down and share some details on the house renovation/ our move, but its been so busy and overwhelming lately with the move and reno so I will try to share room by room! I shared a while back that we renovated a house over 100 years old in Middle GA, that has been vacant for quite some time also. We basically gutted the entire house and knocked out a few walls. The kitchen was definitely the biggest transformation. The island is over 11 feet long and I think the ceilings are close to 12 feet. It took me months to decide pendant lights with the height and length of both. When this house was built, kitchens didn’t really exist. (see below for some before pictures). We knocked down a wall, added a support beam, and had to close a door going to the porch. Going to list some details and frequently asked questions below. It helps that my husband is an engineer and he had the vision to know which walls to take down and I did several mock ups for placement on the fridge, stove ect! I guess there are rules with spacing and codes ect. I just picked out the rest!
Also- We are planning on staining the beam and wood on the hood and still waiting for the dining room light on back order. Possibly add a little bench under the window.
