Finally getting around to writing some details about our long weekend trip to Asheville, NC. It was actually our second time there and we did nothing we did the first time! There are really so many different parts of the city to explore and things to do. The first time we stayed in a cabin and got snowed in so we didn’t really see much other than the downtown and snow. This time it actually snowed again, which the kids loved! I am fine seeing it once a year LOL! This would be a great trip to take early spring when the weather is a little nicer, unless you are a snow tube/ skier! There are plenty of resorts within an hour.
Read more: Asheville Weekend Round UpWe stayed at the Village Hotel on the Biltmore property. It is their most kid friendly hotel and has a huge playground and outdoor activity area the kids were able to enjoy. It is also located minutes away from shopping and restaurants outside the property. I always call and ask if they have a crib, otherwise we bring pack and play.
Living in GA it was a little over 4 hours for us not counting the stops! LOL! Makes for a perfect long weekend trip!
Activities:
Antler Village- located in The Biltmore
Biltmore Tour- was amazing but make sure you get tickets in advance. Was not ideal for Charlotte or Jackson. Mason (5) loved it! They have a cute cafe and shop to visit also!
Snow Tubing– I called all around and most places require children to be 3 to snowtube. I knew that wouldn’t go over well with Charlotte so I found this place called Wolf Ridge Snow Tubing it was about 45 min outside of Asheville (most of the places were anyways). Kids 5 and under were free. The younger two and myself lasted 2 runs and Mason lasted a full hour!
Asheville Village- Some cute stores including a Lululemon!
Hiking- We planned on doing hiking but the temps were 20/30s so we opted out this time. Be sure to check it out, there are so many good trails. We did hike last visit
Dining:
We did Cedrics for dinner one night. It is casual and located in the Biltmore Village
Village Wayside Bar and Grille was close to the Biltmore and super casual and good! We did lunch and dinner there.
High Wire Brewery– Another casual place we did with the kids. It wasn’t super kid friendly having mostly hightops but the food was good and it was casual!
Starbucks, Mcdonalds and a few other fast food places are located right outside the property and we mostly did breakfast and lunch on the go.
*Thought about going to Corners Kitchen but looked a little to fancy for us! The reviews were so good though. We also wanted to try Sunset Terrace and Tupelo Honey but maybe next time. You need to reserve in advance and Charlotte does not like waiting.
