WE’VE MOVED! We are so excited to start this next chapter, in our new home, as a family of three! So happy to finally share the news that we bought a house, Charlie’s new home. For all of you that followed along while we updated our previous home, stay tuned for more updates in this house! I’ll never forget the days of stripping wallpaper, painting, updating the floors and laundry room, at our previous house. It was definitely hard to let that all go, but knowing Charlie will be in a more family oriented neighborhood, where we’re able to make things our own, and we’ll have more space makes it all worth it. This is our 3rd house we’ve own and moved to in the last 4 years. Safe to say we are going to stay put for a little while!
Back in winter when my parents were visiting, my dad ended up finding this neighborhood while on a walk and when we drove by, later in the day, my mom saw a “for sale” sign. I was definitely not looking to move! lol I was lacking energy and the thoughts of moving while pregnant/ with a new baby was the farthest thing from my mind. We originally lost out on the house and a week later got a call that if we wanted it, it was ours. I definitely took that as a sign that it was meant to be. Now looking back I can’t even believe I hesitated. I’m so excited to continue to make this house our home. Just being here for the last week, making coffee in the AM, seeing Charlie in his crib, starting to decorate his nursery, makes me so happy!
My parents and Kate helped us moved over this weekend. Seriously they are the best! I still don’t know how we did it without movers. Definitely one way we saved money. We aren’t moving far so we were able to take a bunch of little trips over at a time. We loaded everything that we need a truck for into the front of the driveway and went to get a Home Depot truck.
For all of you that are local to Northern Virginia, don’t worry, we aren’t leaving anytime soon! We are still in the same town just a more family-friendly neighborhood.
If you are buying/selling/moving while pregnant or with a new baby. I feel you! We have definitely had some challenges over the last few months. Between buying and currently selling our house in this market, to renovating our entire kitchen, the unexpected can definitely pop up. We are so lucky to have such a strong support system to help us. My parents, brother & sisters’ knowledge in the housing market, contracting projects, quoting jobs, when to save or splurge has been a life-saver.
I can’t wait to share some more details and ways we saved money in our renovations. We are currently renovating the entire kitchen. See below some items that will go in the kitchen + some we are already using
- Kitchen Faucet
- Bar Faucet
- Gold knobs & pulls ( I also like these ones PULLS & KNOBS)
- Home Edit storage for bathrooms
- Pot Filler
- Brass Pendants (13″)
- Brass Sconces
