Sharing some tips we have for working at home! Anne and I first started working from home about three years ago in order to live with Matt and Joel who both lived in Virgina and Arizona (at the time)! We were lucky enough to keep our same exact jobs in sales that we did in our office back in Massachusetts and transition it to working at home! We both work 9-5 everyday and blog after hours! Of course with blogging the three of us have more freedom instead of set hours, but even so it does take disciple and planning no matter what your career is to make the most of your day!
- Set an alarm early! This might sound obvious, but even though you are working at home still get up before you’re suppose to be on for work. It gives you time to make coffee!
- Make your bed & get dressed! Even if its just into leggings and a sweater, be sure to change out of pjs!
- Make a list! Add work and non work items to this master list. Every time you think of something that needs to get done write it down it will help you continue to do what your doing!
- Prioritize! Sometimes you get a bunch of different things thrown your way. It’s important to figure out the deadlines and what is more important vs what can get down tomorrow if you run out of time.
- Time Management! once you have your list plan out your morning & afternoon be sure to set time for lunch that always helps me not snack throughout the day! You don’t want to save all your work for the last few hours then it will start to cut into your night activities.
