Non-maternity align bike shorts & $20 sports tank
Getting ready to move back to Dallas full time within the next two weeks! Joel is already there, but since I won’t be traveling back and forth as much this year we decided to rent out our house back home for the hockey season and I’d stay with my parents for the month while he trains in Texas! This summer I’ve learned so much about pregnancy and the changes happening! The changes from now to back in May when we found out have been so insane! I was 6 weeks and already felt nauseous, eating crackers every minute, napping and couldn’t get out of bed! I still can’t eat certain foods and the hot coffee smell is the one smell that still will stop me in my tracks, but I feel 100x better and the best part is I’ve started to feel him move a lot and he is really showing most days! Can’t even hide in my baggy oversized sports tees anymore!
Here are some things I’ve learned so far, but I am definitely no expert so check everything with your doctor!
5 Things I stopped using while pregnant
- First off, definitely follow & subscribe to 15 Minute Beauty for all makeup/skincare pregnancy safe! Grace told me to check her out and it has been so helpful to check out all the brands and which items safe or not safe to use!
- Any cream with retinol in it
- Tarte Shape Tape
- Tula Sugar scrub
- I pretty much have been keeping my make-up to a minimum, but any liquid make-up I stopped using or check more in depth. I’ve been sticking to my powered base make-up from Bare minerals – foundation, bronzer & highlighter
5 Things I Didn’t Know & Want to do
- I knew that morning sickness was a thing, but didn’t know that certain smells and loss of appetite (for me pizza, chicken, steak, salad, coffee) would be so real and almost happened immediately!! I’m just starting to like some of those foods again!
- It is suggested that you sleep on your left side after 20 weeks! I talked to my sister-in-law & sister too about this because I had no idea! Grace said she didn’t know until after the first pregnancy! I’m a back sleeper so it took a few weeks to adjust.
- You can eat cold cuts if you heat them in the microwave for 20 seconds haha just make sure they are fresh! The only thing I have been craving is turkey sandwiches! I haven’t eaten them that much, but pre-pregnancy I’d eat turkey sandwich for lunch or dinner!
- I definitely want to sign up for a baby CPR course
- The baby can start to respond to noises and voices around 23 weeks!!
- Leg cramps- I had a random week (so far) of really bad shin splints and leg cramps where I just have to sit down and take rests.
5 Baby Items
- I use the app Flo now to track what happens each week of pregnancy- It’s great for tracking your periods too!
- Uppa Baby stroller and bassinet (I got the oatmeal color) can’t wait to use this! I love this stroller because it comes with a bassinet and perfect to grow with your family! Can accommodate up to 3 babies/kids!
- Target Registry– so many perks to their registry! Welcome bag, 15% off, a year of coupons, and universal registry- add things from other sites!
- Just got this simple diaper bag backpack in light grey, love this leather one too!
- Inglesina compact stroller perfect for travel! only weighs 13lbs
- Also, I recieved the cutest baby cape cod onesie from Joy Street Kids and then saw their matching pajamas and a matching blanket! This small business is the cutest for gifts!
