Happy Wednesday. My sisters have so many amazing workouts saved so be sure to search workouts in our tab!
To be honest between moving and having baby Charlotte its been tough to find time to workout consistently. Prior to being pregnant I would go on longer runs and Orange Theory a few times a week. I did sign up for the madeline moves app this summer but I have barely used it! I m hoping Charlotte starts sleeping the night and has a consistent nap or two and hoping to get back to some sort of routine. It takes me about a year to get back in shape after babies!
A little background, I played sports my entire life, field hockey into college, and know what works best for me. Everyone is different and it honestly takes work, time and consistency. Diet is also a huge part. Try to drink a lot of water, veggies and protein. Also snacks are important to keep your metabolism up and running. While pregnant with Charlotte I would walk daily, but did not do any weights, running or HIIT workouts. At the end it was just hard to walk!!
I started working out about 8 weeks after delivery and took it slowly with walks. Then walks/run. I found timing my mile walks/runs helped me. I think it was like 17 min for the first mile after her!! I finally got it down to under 7 minutes again. I love to see progress, that is just what works for me! I also love each one of these moves below because they can be done anywhere.
WORKOUT
1 mile run as fast as you can. I usually walk or sometimes want to run more after (if time allows)
This circuit can be 10-15 min or longer. You can adjust each exercise to what works best. For example, sometimes I do 10 pushups, sometimes I do 20.
CIRCUIT
- Squats (20 reps) – You can use a weight or no weight
- Pushups (15 reps)- If needed do knee pushups or maybe drop reps to 10. Increase reps to 20 if necessary
- Jumpsquats – (20 reps) – 10 each leg
- V- Ups- (15 reps)
- Tricep Dips- (20 reps)
REPEAT 2-4 times (whatever time allows or your body feels up to!)
It always helps me to find some cute new workout gear. Some favorites below.
GOOD LUCK!
