Picking up Joel’s ring @ Barmakian! Outfit details HERE
Kate here! It has been a while since I have shared a wedding update! Still reliving Anne and Matt’s beautiful wedding day a week ago on Saturday!! It was seriously such a perfect day, surrounded by so much love and happiness!!! For some of you that are new around here I’ll give you a quick recap! Both Anne and I (Kate) had our original weddings planned for June and August to our college sweethearts of 8 year turned fiancรฉs. Back in May, (seems like forever ago and things were changing daily) just one week after we sent out our invitations we decided to cancel our nautical, beach Cape Cod wedding and rescheduled it for next July 2021. We then decided it was best to cancel next summer because we didn’t know what was going to happen with Joel’s hockey season and with all the unknowns we put the wedding plans on hold, also the fact that the Canadian border (Joel’s family) is still closed. Not going to lie that was tough, not having a plan or a day to look forward to when we should have already been married, but instead we were in the car driving to Dallas for the re-start of the season back in June. I remember writing down my feelings a few days before our actually wedding in June. It just felt better getting it out, you don’t know whether to feel sad, angry and helpless because there is nothing you can do, while at the same time there are bigger problems that we facing so feeling guilty for feeling so sad.
Anne and Matt had to cancel their August wedding, then their November wedding and then planned their small October wedding within 8 weeks! Flash forward to Joel returning from the NHL bubble in Edmonton in the beginning of October after being gone for 3 months and we decided that we didn’t want to wait any longer to be married! We have a tight time frame before he leaves for the start of the next hockey season so we made a decision that we wanted to be married within a month and stuck with it! So here we are now less than 2 weeks away!! Seeing Anne and Matt’s beautiful day play out and how systems were in place for everyone to safe and healthy only makes us even more excited! + now I can use all her decorations ๐ It has been a long time coming, so many emotions over this past year and the two of us couldn’t be happier to move forward! It will be about 1/4 of the size originally planned and we will miss any family and friends not able to come, but looking forward to celebrating all together when it is safer!
Reach out to Anne and I if any of you are in this situation! We are here for you! For everyone who has reached out to check in or share a similar situation, Thank you!! It has been so nice connecting with some many of you going through similar situations.
A few weeks ago, we were so excited to head into Barmakian Jewelers, this time for Joel, to pick out his wedding ring! See Matt, Anne and my wedding ring picks in Anne’s blog HERE. Barmakian has always held a special place in our hearts, it is where everyone in our family from our grandma, great aunts to our aunts, mom and now us three have gone for all diamond and jewelry needs. They have three locations in Boston, Framingham and Nashua, NH and along with numerous designers they can also fully customize from their own line to make sure your ring is exactly what you are looking for! Our engagement rings and Grace’s too are all from Barmakian, so of course it was the only place to go for both our wedding bands. Joel had fun trying on different style, there are so many options, but ultimately he decided with going with a classic Barmakian label gold band. We were on a tight turn around, but working with Cheryl of Barmakian she assured us they would get it rush delivery and it would be in for the big day! So excited for both of us to add a wedding band in only 10 days! Do you all think I chose the same band as Anne’s wedding band?!
