Anne here on the blog today! I’m so excited to share our fall wedding invitations from Minted with you all today. This weekend marks four weeks until our wedding! Yay!! I can’t believe how fast it’s coming!
I loved working with Minted for my wedding invitations. When designing our invitations, I was able to make notes for the ‘designer/ editor’ along the way. For example there were certain wording I wanted to add in and changes in the sizes of the text and after I submitted my order a designer sent over a proof within hours. I went back and forth a few times (even over a changing the font of a ‘&’) and they were able to do everything I asked for, so amazing to work with!
Invitations Design:
Fashion District – So elegant! I love the whole suite. Since our ceremony and reception are at the same place we used the ‘reception card’ for another note to our guests. See below.
COVID Card
This went out to our guests to make sure they knew that we understand how scary this time is and that we would be understanding if there were not able to make it due to COVID19 fears. We also stated that we will be providing masks and sanitizers and are doing everything possible to create a safe space. Also, FYI My dad is also planning on making an announcement at the beginning of the wedding on safety measures.
Reflecting during this time
Nothing will take away my excitement for October 17th. We are both so excited to get married and have been saying no matter what we are getting married at that date! A bunch of questions I received was “will anyone come? How can you be sure?” And my answer since we are going through this is be prepared for family and friends to say no. It’s never easy to think of some of our closest friends and family not being there, but them being safe is the most important.
It’s ok to be mad and sad. I’ve gone through a range of emotions the past few weeks and I can honestly say that they have made me a stronger person. Be prepared and know that this time will not be easy. We have also been trying to get our deposit refunded for our Videographer. She said she was not able to film us, did not give us alternates and said she would let us know if her other couple moved their wedding. After weeks of follow ups, on my end, she basically said no and that she was keeping our deposit, but now some how at the end of everything said she can now do our wedding only if we give the rest of the money. We do not want that kind of stress on one of the biggest days of our lives. The trust is broken.
Shoutout to our photographer, Esra, has been amazing and we are so lucky to have her! She sent us a care package this summer and has been in constant communication with the on-going pandemic. Can’t wait for her to be there on our big day!
