As most of you have seen we just got back from our joint honeymoon in the happiest place on earth, Disney World! It was so nice getting to escape for a few days, relax, and enjoy the nice weather, especially after all the months of planning and re-planning. Also, some exciting news to share with you all. You know how much we love Disney and have grown up going there… well for Matt and Joel’s wedding gifts Kate and I got them a Disney Vacation Club membership! YES! All four of us own it together ๐ Our parents have a DVC membership and it shaped how close we are all together, so many memories growing up and still does today. We can’t wait to have those same times with our families someday!
Sharing a little Q & A on the safety measures at Disney:
Q: Can you park hop?
A: No. To get into the parks you have to make a reservation and buy park passes. One park allowed per day and unfortunately, no hopping. They close off some parks if the reservations fill up so if you know which ones you want to go to definitely don’t wait! We were allowed to go in and out, but decide to spend the entire day there! We were so tired by the end of the night lol
Q: What are the parks like?
A: We spent the entire day in Epcot, started the morning doing some rides and the afternoon/ night in the countries. Even though I wish we were able to hop, it was actually nice getting to slow down for once and not rush through everything. Epcot was busy, but not full capacity, you could definitely tell there were less people. The longest wait for us was Soarin’ at 20 minutes (60 minutes for Frozen). Everyone was wearing masks non-stop! We even heard a few people get asked to pull their masks up too when it was not covering their nose.
Q: Did you feel safe?
A: Yes! We felt safe. There were sanitizers/ hand washing stations throughout the park, less people, mainly everyone I saw was wearing a mask correctly and at all times. There were barriers put up in some lines and less people boarded onto rides. However, they were not sanitizing or wiping in between riders. We made sure to sanitize ASAP.
Q: Where did you stay?
A: We stayed at Saratoga Springs Resort. So nice there, we have stayed here so much and liked how much space there is. They are renovating all the rooms too!
Q: How long did you stay?
A: We went Thursday AM to Sunday night. The only concern was the Orlando airport. We wore two masks. It was definitely busy, but just tried to keep our distance from people the best we could. Some people were not concerned with wearing masks, even though the airport mandates it. The planes (we flew Delta & JetBlue were very clean!)
Q: Favorite park/ ride?
A: So hard to pick just one! I think Epcot is one of my favorites because you get to see all the countries, have food and drinks + go on some rides! I love The Avatar Flight of Passage (omg so good!!), Rockin’ Rollercoaster & Splash Mountain!
Q: How was the Disney Transportation?
A: The buses were amazing! The bus driver assigned you a seat and there were dividers up everywhere separating the seats. They were also not filling them to capacity. We also took the Magical Express from the airport to our resort. They also assigned seats and were skipping rows, no dividers, but everyone kept their masks on the entire time.
Q: Where you able to resort hop?
A: I think you would be able to check other resorts out. We just stayed at our resort. A few nights we grabbed dinner at the resort and ate at the pool with the view of Disney Springs. Speaking of Disney Springs (especially during the night)– stay clear SO packed. We walked in and ran out.
Q: Are most restaurants open at the park?
A: A lot of the smaller “for show” stores were shut down, but the larger/ main restaurants were open. In Epcot the food festival is still going on so there were so many little gourmet pop ups!
Q: Where are your Disney masks from?
A: We got our at the resort & park, but if you can buy them before! HERE is the link for our exact ones! (it’s basically like getting 2 for the price of 1)
Q: Do you get any special treatment with the ‘happily ever after’ pins?
A: Just a bunch of Disney crew members saying congratulations! ๐
